Growing up in Indonesia, I was never a big traveller. I didn’t take my trip overseas until I was 20. I joined student exchange program to Luton, UK. Living ten weeks with people from diverse backgrounds in the area which is very different from my hometown, changed my life. It opened me up to the possibilities of the world and make me confidence with myself.
Since Luton’s trip, I have exploring the world, including countries in Asia, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, and Middle East, such as Palestine, Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. Soon, I will visit Netherland, Italy, France, and some others to count…
I am not a rich person to enjoy traveling. Sometimes I sleep in dorms and budget hotels, wait hours for buses, and try those roadside street stalls! But, I enjoy this things! Traveling opens the door to meet interesting people, see amazing things, and learn as much as a can.
Although traveling is fun, currently I have always to come home for working, for living my life. I saved money and used my day off to explore overseas. You don’t have to travel full time to be a travel blogger and be someone else to enjoy what you love most in life, do you? 🙂 I have a very happy life and good professional life. So far, I don’t feel I would want it any other way.
I love writing and taking pictures. Some stories of my journey has been published in National Geographic Traveler, Reader’s Diggest Indonesia, Backpackidea (e-travelingmagazine designed by my friends and I as a chief editor), and Kompas daily newspaper, where I work as a journalist now-day.
